About



Mikayla Minkyung Seo is the founder of Text Studio, specialising in the curation and critique of design and craft. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design and two Master's degrees in Industrial Design from Konkuk University in Seoul and Curating Contemporary Design from Kingston University in London. She is currently studying for her PhD in Design Planning and Curation at Konkuk University, where she teaches Design Presentation to university students as an Adjunct Professor. Her background began at the Korea Craft and Design Foundation, where she worked as a project manager for seven years. Following this, she spent three and half years as an editor for <Monthly DESIGN> magazine. As a curator and critic, she collaborated with the Seoul Metropolitan Art Museum(SeMA) and the Korea Arts Management Service. She was selected one of finalists by Hyundai Blue Prize 2022 organised by Hyundai Motors.  

텍스트 공방을 설립한 서민경은 디자인과 공예 영역에 걸쳐 글을 쓰고 전시를 기획한다. 건국대학교 산업 디자인학과와 동 대학원을 졸업하고 영국 킹스턴 대학교에서 큐레이팅 컨템퍼러리 디자인 석사 학위를 받았다. 현재는 건국대학교 디자인 기획 & 큐레이션 박사 과정에서 공부하며 겸임 교수로 학생들을 가르친다. 한국공예디자인문화진흥원에서 7년 간 경력을 쌓았고 월간 <디자인>에서 에디터로 3년 반 동안 일했다. 서울시립미술관 시민 큐레이터, 예술경영지원센터 시각예술 비평가, 현대자동차 주최 2022 현대 블루 프라이즈 파이널리스트로 선정된 바 있다.
